Jason Cai

2017-2018 Vice President

Jason discovered the game of chess at the age of 10. From there, he learned the rules and began to develop his skills. After four years, he earned the title of National Master. In his chess career, Jason has competed in many national and international youth championships. In the fall of 2016, Jason discovered Chess in the Library and its mission to promote chess across Canada. He applied and was accepted to become the Junior Volunteer Coordinator. This year, he successfully ran for the Vice-President position. Currently, Jason is a grade 10 student in the TOPS program at Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute. He is the captain of his school’s junior chess team and continues to play chess competitively. Outside of chess, Jason enjoys playing a variety of sports, studying for DECA competitions and binge watching TV shows.
