2016-Present Vice President
Jonathan joined Chess in the Library in the summer of 2009 as a participant at the first CITL branch at Brookbanks Library. There he discovered his passion for chess and competed in numerous tournaments hosted by CITL. Jonathan later decided to volunteer for the program where he moved to the Bridlewood Library branch, where he applied and was accepted for Junior Executive Vice-President. In the past year, he worked under former Vice-President Yiling Wu, where he managed the CITL’s social media presence on the website and on Facebook. This year Jonathan became Vice-President of Chess in the Library.
Jonathan first learned chess in grade one, when he was playing around on Hoyle Board Games and discovered the game. After playing around with the game for a while, he was taught by his father and quickly developed a grasp for the game.
Jonathan is currently a grade 12 French Immersion student at Agincourt Collegiate Institute. There he is also Vice-President of the Econ club and Senior Editor of Lancer Press. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys playing League of Legends, chatting with friends and chilling on Netflix.
