Volunteer of the Year 2013-2014

The Volunteer of the Year Award is awarded annually to a Chess in the Library Volunteer who has demonstrated they go above and beyond as a Chess in the Library volunteer. This award is part of the many ways our organization tries to honour volunteers for all of their hard work, allowing our programs to run. Chess in the Library would like to thank all our past, present and future volunteers, as without any of them our organization would be nothing.

Volunteer of the Year 2013-2014

Ming Chan Zhang

Ming Volunteer of the Year 2

Ming Chan is a favourite of both the participants and the librarians. He is always making sure the program runs properly and isn’t disruptive but at the same time, making sure the participants are having fun. Whenever Bridlewood has a new participant, Ming Chan will always make them feel welcome and is often the first to teach them how to play chess. He has a genuinely great outlook when volunteering which is noted by parents, fellow volunteers and participants alike. There is no doubt that Ming Chan adds great value to the program. (Bridlewood)
